Ulzzang Transformation

I'm Asian and like many (Asian) girls I like Korean culture and especially the beauty ideal of Korea very much!

I wrote this guide to share with you, but also in an attempt to create a community where everyone can help each other out
This is site is full of thoughtful personal tips, tricks and advise that I hope will help you to look like a Korean/ ulzzang.
With that said everything here is far away from a scientific work so please judge for yourself!

I hope you find some of the things helpful!

I always welcome advise, criticism, own experiences from you so please leave comments if there's anything bothering you or if you want to share something.
A place for every of your comments, questions, etc
UPDATES!!! Ruined my eyes writing 3 fashion posts (and that hairstyle post for you guys!!! Hope they are good for something!
Was too lazy to revise or check my writing in the end, so if you see some terribly embarassing spelling mistakes, yeah.. I really am that stupid!

I want to revamp the whole layout, add 2 posts about putting together an outfit and 'trends and staples', but not this lyfe man!
Oh yeah.. how do the new posts load? I know a shitload of pictures, but I don't compromise, pick up your wifi game!

Make-Up

7

Finally make-up.
Xiaxue said in her formspring, that the 1st and most important thing to do to improve your looks is - master make-up.
It's true.

  1. Complexion

To get a very flawless looking dewy base you could do the following:

    1. Moisturizer

Your make-up will have a better hold onto your face if it's moisturized.
Also it won't dry out because of powder and there won't be dry patches of skin visible.

Apply a light-weight moisturizer before doing anything.
    2. Primer

A primer will help you even out your skin. If you have enlarged pores, etc it will fill them in and make your face smooth and even.
If your face is already quite even, you don't need to use primer.
    3. BB Cream

BB Cream is just the Korean/Asian thing. You could use any other foundation that you like of course, but for the sake of being an ulzzang (although not all use BB Cream), let's use BB Cream.

It is after all specially made by Koreans for Koreans and it's better in creating a dewy finish.

Koreans like to have a shimmering skin, they call it aura.
There are certain products which you can use as a highlighter, or mix it with BB Cream to create are more shining face, which will make you look healthier and younger.
    4. Highlighter

      > The parts of the face which need highlight are
      - center of your forehead: to create a rounder and thus bigger forehead
      - nosebridge: to create a higher sharper nose
      - end of your chin: to make your face appear longer and the chin sharper
      - underneath your browbones
      - under your eyes alongside your cheekbones
    5. Counturing

Counturing is important at the sides of your nose, also to make it slimmer and higher and at the sides of your face (for the same effects)

      Dewy Makeup
Dewy or glowy make-up is a fairly new make-up trend, which makes your face appear really glowy and shiny, actually like you were sweating.
At the same time it looks very healthy, so it's very popular.

The first two videos show variants with more coverage for uneven skin, while the last one is a light-weight variant.

  2. Eyebrows

  3. Eyes

I will just point out the part about the eye make-up which I find most crucial in achieving an ulzzang look.

    1. Eyeliner

The eyeliner is always always winged, either straight or downwards (but not upwards).
      And there's always eyeliner.

Some ulzzangs only draw the wing, and that only in a light brown shade (so it's barely visible), but at least there is eyeliner.

Another popular feature about ulzzang eye make is to emphasize the lower outer part.
It makes your eyes look longer, bigger, but also droopier and cuter (some really exaggerat though).
    2. Highlighter

You need to highlight the inner corners of your eyes to make them look brighter.
And then the lower lashline starting from the inner corners fading out outwards, this will also emphasize your aegyo sals more.

simple basic strong outer wing eyeline

super overdone lower lashline highlighter + outer lower part make
(don't ask me about her circle lenses... I guess they are size devil)
  4. Cheeks and Lips

A hint or pink or orange blush.

What Koreans like to do is do bitten lips: you concentrate the color to the center of your lips and fade it out towards the outer parts.

  1. So THAT'S why their nose bloody sparks! I've ALWAYS wondered that. I'm half japanese, but I somehow prefer Korean beauty standarts over japanese ones. Oh well, nice post sweetheart ^u^

  2. May I know what kind of contouring powder is the most recommended?

    1. a non-shimmer powder which is 2 or 3 shades darker than your skin tone would be best x
      hope that helps !^^
