UPDATES!!! Ruined my eyes writing 3 fashion posts (and that hairstyle post for you guys!!! Hope they are good for something!
Was too lazy to revise or check my writing in the end, so if you see some terribly embarassing spelling mistakes, yeah.. I really am that stupid!

I want to revamp the whole layout, add 2 posts about putting together an outfit and 'trends and staples', but not this lyfe man!
Oh yeah.. how do the new posts load? I know a shitload of pictures, but I don't compromise, pick up your wifi game!

KOREAN LEASURE PURSUITS

You're getting more and more Korean.

But to complete your whole transformation you need to adapt a few things Korean girls like to do in their spare time (and that is not just writing nonsense stuff!)

Before we get serious, I'm afraid I have to give a little speech again.

And before the speech another note: Since I don't watch dramas, I have propably miss out a few things Korean girls like to do.
So if you have any idea of what they are else doing when they got the time, please let me know!
Thanks!

So, here we go!

Ahem. One of the few things Koreans and Japanese have in common (ok I bet if you include the whole culture, they have more than a few things in common, but we are not talking about that stuff) is their love for
cute stuffs,
pseudo-order and
pseudo sophistication.

What does that mean?

Cute stuff is not hard to understand.
But, you should know that Koreans define cute in another way that we probably used to.
If we think about cute stuff, we think more the Japanese way, like fluffy, baby-ish things, Hello Kitty, Rilakkuma etc.

Koreans are even in this field more matured.
Their cute things are decorated with trees, flowers, couples, or senseless cute phrases.
Illustrations they like often have a graphic touch (they look as if they were drawn) and not digital (created on a pc).

Pseudo-order
Koreans are mad about pseudo-order.
Pseudo-order means you pretend to keep your things organized, but in reality you're just wasting your time arranging and sorting them following a confusing number of systems of boxes, compartments, partitions etc
To put it short: You make everything much more complicated than necessary and risk losing track of things.
But it looks cute.

As well as with things, they also like to pseudo-organize their thoughts, i.e. they note down every little effin thing.

They have like a hundreds of organizers with hundreds of compartment and special pages, where you can fill in your personal info, timetable, to do list, wishes and resolutions, diet plan, travel plan, daily plan, etc

They have thousands of exercise books, memo pads and sticky notes to write down
whatever could be of slightest importance.

They have tens of thousands different designs for wallets and ID card holder or passport card holders or credit card holders. Or a combination of those.

They have millions of other useless things from bags to put in bags, to travel bags, to door organizer that hang at doorhandles, to cable organizers for earphones, earphone bags, mobile bags, camera bags, etc

Really every pseudo-organization shit that you can think of.

Pseudo-sophistication.
This is probably something that all Asian countries (at least China, Japan, Korea and Vietnam) have in common.
It means that you want to appear a bit high-class, a bit western orientated.

Koreans adore Paris for example. The capital of France, the probably most noble sounding language ever and the capital of Love.
They love the motif of the Eiffle Tower or French phrases.

Other Western countries/cities they like are London (not so much, but they like the Union Jack) and Germany.
There's acutally are pseudo-order-things-manufacturer that gives his products (pseudo) German names.

The End.

Now, here come a few concrete things you could try and do.

#1 Scrabbooking
Buy yourself a Korean diary/organizer.

Stick it full with stickers, write down your plans, dreams, poems, achievements, recipes, useless phrases (what did you acquires a Korean handwriting for?)
Just be creative.

#2 Take polaroids

Oh yes!
Polaroids are very very pseudo-sophiticatish-european like!
And also vintage-like!

There are two kind of cameras you can buy:
Either a classical one, to stick to the European style!
Or a Korean one, which is more playful and cute!

Take pictures of wannabe-artsy things and stick them into your organizer!
Korean max!

#3 Be a fangirl
Serious, I think all of you found the bias already, so this tipp is a bit useless.
But I found it still worth mentioning!

Still, maybe there's one thing about your idolizing which isn't Korean enough.
So here's what to do:
  • Add your bias on twitter! Check if your idol has a twitter account or if his band has! Follow that account and check if they got something new every minute!
  • Stalk your idol's cyworld homepage! Find out his link no matter what and stalk it too every minute! You can rotate between Twitter - Cyworld - Twitter - Cyworld
  • Make a cake on the birthday of your idol and anniversaries!
Baking is very pseudo-sophisticated and will also boost your ego, because you did something so cool for your idol!
Tweetpic the picture of your cake to him and wait for his reply!
  • Buy his albums, photo books, concert DVD's and other memorabilia
  • Be absolutely fanatic about him! If you ever see him, scream Opppaaaa until his eyes hurt!
And if he should ever date someone, hate him to the max!
Terrorize his twitter and the twitter of his (probably) famous girlfriend and her Cyworld! Phrases like Yo bitch, you think you're good enough for Jung Do-oppa? Don't you dare to pester him with your ugly face are the nicest things you could say. No mercy! He is yours!

#4 Watch Korean shows and dramas!

If you don't receive Korean channels at home (yet), persuade your parents to add them or try to do it yourself!

Watch Mnet, Music Core and all that stuff and woo for your favorite idol!

Of course you can also watch them on youtube, but what's that against sitting in front of the TV and be a part of it!
It feels like being in Korea!

As for the dramas, you're probably doing that already!
If you like something of the drama, check if it's for sale on ebay (memorabilia-wise)

THE BEGINNING

This is a guide for looking like an Ulzzang!

I have collected advise and tips from various youtube channels, figured one or two things out myself and am quite observant of Korean beauty trends, so I thought I put all I know into a guide which might aid you in your Ulzzang transformation.

So, enjoy this guide, but please note that I'm not a beautician, or anything and everything on this site is just personal experience. This means that you have to treat with caution.

Also, I'm sorry to point out that, this guide is firstly aimed at Asian girls (with not the darkest complexion).
People of other races, just can't look like Asian. This is a fact and it is also true for the other way round.
We Asians can never look like white people for example.

But, I also need to say that, if you're white, be happy, because everything Koreans or Japanese are doing is to look like you.!
We want to have your high, small noses, you small faces, your big colorful eyes and your thick lashes, but we fucking can't without cheating ㅠㅠ

Before we start, here's a list of things you need in order to fullfil your transformation:
  • A Paypal account (unless you live in some certain Asian countries): I think this is a quite curcial point, because you will have to buy Japanese/ Korean cosmetics and other important stuff
  • An Ebay account: many many many Asian things to buy here! Must buy!
  • Patience and leisure: as most things in life, this transformation, too, will take it's time. And also nothing will happen on it's own. You will need to be a little bit persistent about it
  • Self-confidence: In the course of this guide, you will learn a lot about the beauty ideals of Koreans. But remember those are ideals and unless you are perfect (which you aren't, because nobody is) you can't look exactly like this ideal. So learn to appreciate your own beauty, but also how to enhance it!
  • This is the most imporant point: If you're frustrated, because you think you can't reach your goal. You see that this Ulzzang or that Korean idol is soo pretty, has high, sharp nose, V-line, whatever then REMEMBER:
they all had plastic surgery and a professional photoshopper!

So yeah, that's it.
Let's get started.

The guide will start out with the basics, like studying the ideal of beauty.
Then a make-up and fashion guide will follow.
And lastly you will learn how to adapt your lifestyle.
(In the end you will feel brainwashed LOL)

Also, 99% of the guide ist still under construction. Sorry!

THE BODY

194

Mint

As you all surely have noticed ulzzangs and kpop stars are super super skinny.
Although Western beauty idols like models are equally skinny, I kind of find ulzzangs live it up more...
Being skinny is really one of the core points of the ulzzang look.
So it's quite a big deal.

Every now and then you will find articles about idols who are criticized and praised for their lean bodies, long legs, etc or about diet secrets which idols share with their fans. Idols also often privately share their concerns about food on instagram. You see that as a public figure it is very important for them to always look 'perfect'.

  1. Weight

Now we don't want to hide from the truth here. They are all underweight.
The average BMI of the 'street models' I have listed in this post is something around 16.8 (underweight is less than 18.5).
And I think it's the same for idols.

(Of course in order to defend them, you could argue that Asian women are shorter and have a lighter frame than women else where, but the BMI chart is pretty much the same in most countries - including in Asia.)

In fact many Korean girls say that anything above 50kg/ 110lbs is fat. Even taller girls (170cm/ 5' 7") want to stick to that rule and have a 4 as the first number one the scale.

With that said, being skinny is everything, which means try to be skinny!

I know that this beauty ideal is quite harmful as it carries the risk of pushing girls into anorexia and all that stuff. And I can imagine that there are really many many anorexic girls in Korea and that many ulzzangs must be (secretly) affected, too.
I can only tell you guys to take care of yourself and be critical. When you are seeing a picture of a skinny girl, ask yourself if it's still pretty or just super thin. Observe how your own definition of 'the right amount of skinniness' develops (I'm pretty sure it will change/ has changed).
You need to be aware of the fact that there's a difference between being underweight and liking your weight and wanting to maintain it and -
constantly wanting to lose more and more, hating yourself because of your weight (whatever that weight is), loving bones which stick out of your body, etc.

    Disclaimer:

I have added statistical values where in any way possible, but those have a very limited validity, since 2 or 5 individual values are really not that much. Still, because many of you seem to be unsure about a good ulzzang weight for their height, I thought these might be a bit helpful for you all.
Also you can see that the weights for each height can be quite apart from each other and that often shorter models are heavier than taller ones and vice versa. So the weight is really only vague reference point, it is better to look at your body shape or clothes sizes.

    'Bubble N Chic' 2/ Jomin/ Sori

Even though facts are like that, idols and ulzzangs are not just sticks. They still have their curves (as much curves as Asians can force) and especially now with all the sexy concepts of girl groups we see how boobs and butts are valued despite having a thigh gap, visible collar bones are nice, skinny ankles (very popular features!).

Personally, I don't mind weighing a few kg/ pounds less, I am consciously not giving a f*ck about my health concerning that aspect, also because I don't think it will affect my health that much. For others it must sound terrible, for me it's nothing more than eating a lot of unhealthy food, sleeping on a bad matress, have eczema etc.
This is how I think about it. I don't want to promote or defend my way of thinking, but want to give you an example of how you can want to be underweight without having an unhealthy mindset (depending on where 'unhealthy' starts for you).

What I am saying is, be skinny, don't be too skinny, know what you are doing/ hold your horses, idols and ulzzangs are not too skinny, too!!
And remember, the goal is to look pretty, not skinny. Although those two are linked to a certain extend, they are not the same.

    Hyo-Jin/ Soun-Ho/ Young-Hye

  2. Height

On to height, which seems to be a real issue for many readers.
Did you know that Koreans are the tallest among (East?) Asians? The guys are so tall.....
Can't say the same about the girls, though... Look at the tables I have posted. I think the average height of Korean girls is something around 164cm/ 5' 4.5". As for idols, I guess it's about the same.
Yes, there are many girl group members nowadays which are taller and surely the trend is to be tall (as elsewhere in the world), but I don't think that too many girls in Korea hit the 170cm/ 5' 7" mark.

Many of you are worrying about not being tall enough and whilst I understand that being less than 160cm/ 5'3" is quite disaffecting, I wouldn't say that your height is that important for an ulzzang look.

I would say that your body proportions are much more important.
It is obvious that long, skinny legs are the main point of attraction when you look at the pictures.
I know that girls who are short often feel bad about their short legs, but as I said it's all about the proportions. If you are short, but have slender legs/arms you will still look tall (on pictures at least) and that is what counts.
And you can wear high heels.

I have seen many pictures of skinny woman under 160cm/ 5'3" and they still look bomb only because they are skinny enough. So don't worry, it's not such a big deal - you don't really see much mentions about idol heights, right? that is because - it's also a waste of energy and time to worry about a thing which you can hardly influence.
Sounds bitter, but it's really true.

  3. S-Shape

A third and last thing about ulzzang bodies that I'd like to address is the recent trend towards 'real' boobs and butts.
Back in the days, spaghetti tops were modeled wearing t-shirts underneath and now you see idols showcasing their crotch on camera.
Time changes, Korea gets more and more in touch with the Western world and now S-shape is more important than ever.
If you didn't know, S-shape is how a female body is shaped like.

From the upsurge of girl band's sexy concept and the appearance of cleavage and super short mini skirts in Korean clubs and online shopping sites (that is already porn!) I can easily tell that boob jobs have a boom in Korean right now (literally!).
Well most Asians aren't blessed with those things unfortunately, so unless you want to get breast implants, too , it's also a waste of time and effort to feel down because you don't have a C-cup...

I am happy to answer any of your questions in the comments, but also like to reference to my weight-loss post, which should answer general questions like 'how do I lose weight?'.
It would be best to read that and post specific questions there.

Weight loss

47

Before starting to provide whatever information I have concerning weight loss, let me make a few things clear.

  • Most ulzzangs/ street models are (by 'definition') underweight!
being underweight is not really healthy for your body!
if you decide to have the same height/ weight ration as them you, too, will be underweight!
  • But they are NOT pro-ana-, pro-bones-underweight! means, there body still has curves, their legs are not sticks, there bones don't stick out like mountains!
  • if you think those things are desirable you have a wrong concept of ulzzang beauty and also your brain doesn't work correctly! go see a doctor
  • Even if you don't have such opinions now, you are be prone to form such thoughts, because many people who want to lose weigh totally lose it, get all worked up about it, join sick pro-ana circles and eventually get disorders and stuff like that
Please take good care of yourself! I know I'm preaching underweight is the only thing, but that doesn't mean that my word is law.
If you think you want to live by it, then be aware of your decision.
Personally, I don't think a few kg/pounds more or less matter that much, but you have to judge yourself. It doesn't really matter if you exactly know what less weight compared to more weight means for your body, but you should at least never forget that weighing from 40kg-49kg/ 88lbs- 108lbs is not really much and will affect your body.
Then there are all sorts of harsh weight loss/ work out methods, whether you are doing them or not is also your own decision, you should have an idea about possible risks for your health.

So what I want you all to remember is You must absolutely know, what you are doing

Ok, that's it. I'm not saying this because I feel responsible for you or I'm afraid I could be blamed for anyone starving to death. I couldn't care less about that, since it's obvious that whatever I write here, it is still you who decide to do it.

I'm writing this, because it's only natural that everyone should take good care of themselves and hurting your own body won't get you anywhere. DONE !^^

Ok, first let us go through the basics of how our body works regarding digestion and energy metabolism.
As everybody should know, it is only logical that what gets in is in some way used by our body.

Our body uses the food to get energy out of it or to build up elements for our organs.
Energy is used for many things, from moving muscles (not only when we work, but also for things like making our heart beat, for breathing, for seeing, etc), to maintaining our body temperature, cleaning our blood, healing wounds, fighting off bacteria, really many things.

Generally our metabolism should be in a equilibrium, means we should eat exactly the amount of food/ energy our body uses up doing what it does.

If we get more energy than we need, our body doesn't like to waste it. For times when nourishment is scarce our body stores energy as fat.
When needed these fat reserves can be used to gain energy for vital processes.

With that knowledge the formula for losing weight is fairly simple, we must somehow use up those stored fats. And that is done when the body doesn't get enough energy else way. So
less in than out!

There are two ways of doing so;
1) eating less
2) exercise

By eating less we force our body to make use of the stored fats and by exercising we are creating an even greater need for energy, so it's only logical that by combining those two, we get a greater result, because our body must even create more energy for the additional strain.

Yes I know, everything I said til now is pretty clear, but I just wanted to recall those information, because I think keeping those basics in mind, will help you reach your goal more directly.

  1. Diet

I can't really provide any specific information here, as there is really too much unverified information around, which I couldn't possibly quote.
So, I try to keep things simply and basic

What kind of food helps with weight loss?
    1. FAT

is synthesized out of the fat we eat and sugar and proteins. So yes, like everybody knows, throw out as much fatty and sweet food as you can. (I will talk about proteins later).
Things that contain much fat: cheese, milk, fried stuff, cake, chocolate, bacon, sausages, etc.
Well, mostly dairy goods (as milk is very fatty) and many many meats.

I don't think I need to list sweet things.

In order to avoid gaining more fats you can either totally cut these out or replace them.
As for dairy good there are nearly always low-fat alternatives and there is also meat which is low-fat, like turkey or chicken.

What we should eat instead are vegetables. As they are very healthy and don't really have any fats.
It is even better if we cook them using only little to no oil!

    2. Carbohydrates

If you have tried to lose weight before you might have come across the LOW-CARB trend.
Many people who have successfully lost weight claim to have cut carbs, so I think it is quite an efficient method to lose weight.

The gist: Supporters think that carbs are generally kind of bad. For us it is important to know that carbs are actually only large sugars. Sugar is also energy, so when a our body registries that we have plenty of sugar it will use that to gain energy and not its (holy) fat reserves. (Sugar is also needed to create fat reserves).

That means, throw out the carbs, too!
Carbs are mainly in cereal products, like bread, noodles, rice,...
    3. Proteins

Since we threw out fat and carbs already we only have PROTEINS left.
Food with many proteins are eggs, tuna, salmon (quite much seafood), turkey/ chicken breast, dairy products, quinoa, tofu, soy beans, etc.

The function of proteins in our body which are interesting for us is also its usage as an energy store.
Luckily for us, stored proteins are way leaner and less noticeable than those bulky fats.

Now this is important: I told you that our body uses fat reserves to get energy when it doesn't get any food. That's only half the story.
When starving the body will also exploit its own muscles, liver and spleen to create the necessary energy to keep us alive. As a consequence our muscles and those organs will shrink.
That is why it is not a good idea at all to starve, not only because it sounds terrible.
We need our liver (not only!) for creating the carbs we aren't eating anymore. Yes, the liver can create more than enough for us using protein.
We also want many muscles for losing weight (more about that later).

Proteins also make us feel sated earlier/ more, so we eat less.

All in all, we can say that, we don't need the fats (we got more than enough of those around the thighs/ belly I'd say) and we don't really need the carbs as our body can create those.
What we do need at least are proteins.

(There are also other components of our nutrition which are also essential btw: vitamins, trace elements, ...)

Now that I have given you this information I think you should now be able to more or less estimate what a good diet for you looks like.
I can't say much more, because there are really millions of diets on the internet and as far as I know they all work or don't, depending on how hard you kick yourself in the ass.

Nevertheless, since the one meal per day diet appears to be somewhat popular (in Korea and thus elsewhere) I shall add my two cents.

Personally I think that for us first world inhabitants, it is kind of hard to die from nutrient deficiency.
And whilst certain life styles (construction worker, competitive sportmen, managers, ...) certainly need their fair share of food, some demographic groups - students - are less delicate regarding collapsing because 'I didn't have a Chocolate Fudge Brownie Ben&Jerry's'. Word.
To make myself clear, I dare to say that one meal per day is enough for someone who sits all day long (even on days with gym class). That could be just me though...

  2. Sports

It would be better to talk about movement.

The more we move and the more exhausting those movements are the more energy we burn.
The more we move and the more exhausting those movements are the more muscles will be built.
The more muscles we have the more energy we use up to feed those.

    This is so much win.
I have told this everyone who asked me about how to lose weight. Muscles always need energy. Even when they are resting. So the more muscles you have the more weight you'll lose.

Some girls are worried about looking like Hulk once they start to work-out, but rest assured. You won't build up muscles that fast and also, muscles are much leaner and smaller than fat.
Ok, admittedly this is what everyone told me and this won't change the fact that body builders look like body builders, BUT first lose those fat pads around your hips, and after that are you allowed to complain about your abs... !^^

In my opinion the standard work-out programs recommended by gyms are useful enough.
They will mostly aim on muscle building by training with weights. For those who have never been to the gym, beginners will usually start out by training with weight machines, which dictate certain movements with adjustable weights, e.g. pulling down a string with 40kg/ 88lbs attached.

Normally you do sets of around 15 repetitions per exercise and use a weight which will make you unable to lift one more time.

For those who want something more fun or can't get a gym membership aerobic, Tae Bo, Pilates, etc are a good alternative. Some are more on the cardio side alright, but also provide a certain workout for your muscles, especially with dumbbells.
You can easily do them at home with youtube trainers like blogilates.

Other things you can do is sit less often; Get off a stop earlier and walk for one station, don't take the lift, park your car at the farthest parking lot, bike to school/ work/ anywhere, etc (get lost and find your way, that's what I am doing all the time !^^)
Anything will do, and add up in the end, plus it will make you feel better about yourself !^^

I will try to add more information in the future but for the time being I hope this help you all a bit.
Also, don't quote me on nothing x !
Although I don't like to provide you with information that I don't regard as 'true' myself, I'm neither a nutritionist or a doctor.

THE HAIR

4

Before I'm talking about typical colors or styles, I shall mention something which all Korean idols or ulzzangs have in common, concerning their hair:
It looks very healthy and shiny.
So whatever color or length you want to wear, make sure it's healthy.

  1. Colour

Well, I mentioned already, but I gonna say this again.

According to my observations, the most typical look (for ulzzangs) is black hair.
I think having black hair makes you look Korean faster than any other hair color. Apart from most ulzzangs having black hair, blond or brown hair is also typically Japanese, so your look could end up like some vague gyaru/ulzzang mix which wouldn't be distinct enough.
Also black will will enhance the whiteness of your face more (whether it is white or not), and it frames the face more efficiently, means you could cheat a smaller face if you let them open.

But it's true that nowadays more and more idols and ulzzangs have other hair colors, ranging from all shades of brown, over orange to blond and white.
If you like to go for a more unusual, original look then I'm not saying that you can't dye your hair any colour you want. Blond, orange or red are surely fun colours to wear and nice attention grabbers, while brown is not as boring and plain is black. Brown itself is less potent in diluting your ulzzng appearanc, but still - the darker the better.

Only one last thing about very light colours: If your skin colour is rather dark then going very light will make you have that exotic latina look, which is not very ulzzang.
  2. Cut

As we can see from their make-up or fashion Korean style is all about being simple. For hair cuts that means there aren't a lot of crazy layerins or asymmetric bobs going on.
Idols as ulzzangs mostly have very simple basic hair cuts that vary only in length and bangs or no bangs (will talk about that later).

I do think that the difference between idol and ulzzang hairstyle lies in the amount of hair. Idols often have very thin hair which blow softly in the wind (I guess they thin it out), while I believe that (due to the lack of top stylists) ulzzangs have fuller hair (which is typical for Asians).

Have you thought getting or growing out your bangs? Bangs make a super super huge difference to your overall image, so it's really important to consider whether you have them or not.
    1. No bangs

A free (huge) forehead is an indicator for two things - 1) sophistication. When you are not covering your forehead or eyes it shoes that you are openly meeting your environment, you are not afraid of anything. This look has a more mature and serious feeling to it.
Secondly an open forehead looks more classy. While bangs add a lot of hair and movement to your appearance, no bangs have a clean look, which is associated with noblesse and a refined style.
    2. Bangs

When no bangs are feminine, then bangs are girly. Bangs make you look instantly younger, cuter and more playful. They'll add a You're my oppaaaa feeling to your look and yeah, depends on your taste really.
Bangs is Minah (Girl's Day), Jimin (AOA) or Raina (After School).

I hope you could see how different the images of i.e. Yonna or Minah are.
    3. Can't decide? I guess most people would suggest clip-on bangs, but since I can't really be bothered to spend money on them, I have two other tips for you. Side parting side parting will also 'add hair to your face' thus more or less resemble the effect of bangs, it looks more playful then a centre parting, but still very grown-up. I think they might look a bit sexier though.
See-through bangs they were (are?) a big trend in Korea and although I don't find them to be very pretty as such, they are a good in between bangs and no bangs. It's easy to style them to the rest of your hair with a bit of hairspray or so, but even when you don't do so they are still sophisticated AND girly.
  3. Hairstypes

Of course almost all Asians have really straight hair, but idols have the opportunity to chose from a 100 different types of waves and curls to wear, which for some is somewhat difficult to imitate.
Ulzzangs seem to stick to their naturally straight hair mostly and if they wear curls they are more of the standard and less nifty kind.
  4. Hairstyles

Keep it simple only leaves enough space for loose hair, pony tails, buns. If you want to be fancy-simple then do braids or pigtails (ore more elaborate curls).
Of course idols again have their stylists, which allows them to style their hair more lavishly even on a daily basis. Even so, their airport fashion includes mostly none of the 'work hairstyles' (pony tails, buns, whatever), but only lose, but absolutely wavy hair!!!

Accessories & Shoes

0

Koreans are very minimal when it comes to accessories.
I've gathered a few trademark accessories which are all real key items.

  1. Accesories

    1. Hats

      Baseball
      caps

Baseball caps primarily, but also snapbacks, are really hot at the moment.

Although I'd say that their popularity sky-rocketed recently (since Freiknock came up with those to be precise) they still have the potential to be an absolute fashion staple.

I haven't seen these pointed beanies anywhere but in Korea.
I must admit that at first I found them weird, but now I find that this look has it's has it's charm.

    2. Sunglasses

Sunglasses instantly make you appear chicer and sophisticated.
Koreans always try to be very cool and slightly badass, so their love for sunglasses is very understandable.

Sunglasses come in a variety of shapes, but I think the most flattering ones are butterfly or round glasses.

A highly popular manufacturer is Gentle Monster. This Korean brand has won over many international fans,
      with many celebrities among them.

    3. Bags

A typical ulzzang bag doesn't exist.
The only guideline here is that the design should of course be simple.

So should chose a plain design according to your needs.
A recurring design though, is the simplest of simplest bag, a cloth bag, mostly with some writing.
It's a nice, casual variant for students.

I'm frequently seeing the cloth bag from American Apparel, Acne or Opening Ceremony being sported.

  2. Shoes

Ulzzangs like to sport chunky, heavy footwear with platforms. I think because they emphasize skinny legs
    more and look kinda badass.
    1. Sandals

Chunky, black leather, strappy sandals preferably with a platform are the Korean sandal design!
They are casual because of the straps, yet the black leather gives them a kind of elegant feeling. Furthermore the platform gives you a bit of height and elongates the legs.
      I spot the designs of
      ◄
      Dr. Marten's and
      ►
Teva particularly often. You can buy many knock-offs of these two brands.

Besides black, these kind of sandals are also much liked in white, silver/ holographic and tan/ nude hues.

    2. Sneakers

The variety of sneakers available in Korea and worn by ulzzangs is as back as elsewhere on the world.
However I have a feeling that particularly chunkier models like the Nike Air Max or New Balance 574, are the most ulzzang-ish designs.

    3. Walker Boots

I don't think the term walker boots or simply walker exists as a fashion good outside of
      Korea.
Walkers are black, heeled leather boots with a platform and treaded soles. Usually they
have a biker appeal with laces and buckles.

Because of that and the elongation of the legs they look very sexy.
